The fall season is coming, as is the collegiate competition. TMU Gold is one of the strong teams in Valorant, and today we are with the Team captain.
Q: Can you please introduce yourself?
Erik: My name is Erik Mazilu Im 22 years old and my IGN is ViZe and I am the team captain of TMU Gold. I’m from Toronto but recently moved to Barrie. I have been a competitive Esports player since I was about 16 years old and I was competing in games in H1Z1 and Fortnite at the time.
Q: How did you first start gaming? And what brought you to Valorant?
Erik: I first started gaming when I was a child, I had to be like 3 or 4 and I picked up the controller to play the first Halo game. My dad was really into gaming in the 90’s and early 2000’s so I would say that’s the reason why I started playing at a very young age. I remember openning up twitch to see valorant’s beta getting more then one million viewers so I opened up the stream and I liked it.
Q: What is your favorite agent, map, skin, and weapon in Valorant?
Erik: My favourite agent is Reyna but I main Omen for my team, my favourite map is Haven, my favourite line is the reaver collections and I prefer the Vandal over the phantom.

Erik: Having and working with teammates is great. I’m having a really good time building connections and making friendships. The new TMU Gold roster is looking great this year and I think its very promising.
Q: What was the best moment in the competition?
Erik: My favourite moment when competing was going to the TVAL LAN in Toronto when I got to make the best memories and compete against pros.

Q: How was your experience at the first LAN competition?have you been in another LAN competition? did it feels different ?
Erik: Since it was my first LAN experience I was pretty nervous at first but It got better when we got into playing the game. I loved meeting everyone from the valorant community in Toronto and even met pros and streamers from other places. I also had a lot of fun competing against pros. I have been to two other LANs since that one they both weren’t as big as the first TVAL.
Q: What tournaments are you going to play and what are your expectations for the fall season that is coming?
Erik: I will be playing in leagues and tournaments like NACE, AVGL and even Riot Games organized leagues like CVAL. I have very high hopes for the fall season since we are putting in a lot of work and will learn from our mistakes from last year.
Q: Any advice for those who are going to start playing competitively?
Erik: I believe that the most important part is to have a very good mentality. In order to compete and do good you need to believe that you’re the best. Go into every game believing that.
Q: Any final words or comments?
Erik: Make sure to follow @TMUGoldVAL on twitter and keep up with our games
