Within the grand tapestry of esports offerings at DreamHack Atlanta, the Call of Duty Mobile tournament will take center stage, complemented by the ESL Challenger CS:GO tournament, fighting games tournaments, and the ESL StarCraft 2 Masters tournament.
The integration of Call of Duty Mobile into DreamHack Atlanta was initially disclosed in April 2023, representing a significant development arising from a broader partnership between Activision, the developer of Call of Duty, and the ESL FACEIT Group. It’s noteworthy that Call of Duty Mobile has firmly entrenched itself within the competitive landscape of the Snapdragon Pro Series, a global mobile esports circuit featuring titles like Clash Royale, MLBB, Brawl Stars, and Asphalt 9, among others.
Within the expansive framework of the Snapdragon Pro Series, Call of Duty Mobile enjoys representation across multiple competitive regions, holding a coveted spot in the Series’ Masters Tier. This distinction grants the most skilled players the opportunity to qualify for the Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Masters event, slated for early 2024.
It’s worth noting that this marks the second consecutive year that the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship is being held in North America. Tribe Gaming, an esteemed esports organization, currently holds the reigning title, emerging victorious in last year’s championship held in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The competitive landscape for Call of Duty Mobile in 2023 has undergone significant changes, largely driven by the strategic collaboration between the EFG and Activision. While the main event’s prize pool has experienced a modest reduction, now standing at $1 million compared to the previous year’s $1.7 million, this change is balanced by a host of additional activations, rewards, and smaller-scale competitions introduced throughout the year.
