Worlds 2023: Swiss stage

The play-in phase of Worlds 2023 has ended with two teams advancing to the next stage. GAM Esports from Vietnam and Team BDS from EMEA earned a spot on the Swiss stage that starts on October 19.

During the Swiss stage, 16 teams will be playing a round-robin format. In this group, only eight teams that win three matches will advance to the knockout stage. The first match of this phase is Team Liquid from NA against T1 from Korea.

After the first game, teams will be divided into winners and losers; those matches will be played on October 20. These two days will be Bo1. On October 21, the four teams that have won two matches will play in a Bo3, and the winners will pass to the next stage.

Continuing on October 22, eight teams with one win and one loss will play a Bo1. The loser bracket will be played on October 23, and it will be played in a Bo3. From October 26 to 28, teams will be playing Bo3, and they will be divided into teams with 2w-1L and 1w-2L, and the winners will be playing in a Bo3 on October 29 to complete the eight teams for the next stage.

New team for LEC 2024

Karmine Copr, the French Esports Organization, will be part of LEC 2024 after acquiring a stake in the slot (66.67%)of Astralis, the Danish Esports Organization for 129 million (~£15m). From the start of the upcoming offseason, all Astralis players will be free agents.
